### Beijing - Forbidden City - Temple of Heaven - Beijing

Upon our arrival in Beijing early in the morning, we will meet our private vehicle waiting for us and set off for a Panoramic Beijing Tour. Tiananmen Square, one of the world’s largest city squares and one of China’s most important symbolic areas politically and historically; Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, the monumental structure in Tiananmen Square where the remains of Mao Zedong, the founder of the People’s Republic of China, are displayed; the Great Hall of the People, the monumental state building that hosts the sessions of the National People’s Congress of China; and the National Museum of China, located on the east side of Tiananmen Square and one of the world’s largest museums showcasing China’s thousands of years of history, are among the places we will see panoramically. After our tour, we will transfer to the hotel and have free time for our guests to rest. Guests who wish may join the optional Lunch Included Forbidden City & Temple of Heaven Tour (100 USD), organized by our guide. Our first stop on the tour will be the Forbidden City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was used as the palace of Chinese emperors for nearly 500 years during the Ming and Qing dynasties and is one of the world’s largest and best-preserved palace complexes. Surrounded by high red walls and golden roofs, this massive complex was the center of the imperial era and was called the “Forbidden City” because ordinary people were barred from entering it for centuries. We will have the opportunity to visit this structure, which contains hundreds of palace halls, courtyards, and the imperial garden. After our visit to the Forbidden City, we will continue to the Temple of Heaven, another UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important religious complexes where emperors of past dynasties prayed for good harvests and heavenly blessings. The temple is considered one of the most elegant examples of Chinese architecture. Surrounded by a large park area and ceremonial structures, this sacred site was one of the most important centers where imperial Chinese rituals were performed. We will have lunch at a local restaurant during the tour. After the tour, transfer to the hotel. Accommodation at the Beijing hotel.

### Beijing - Great Wall - Summer Palace - Beijing

After breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we will have free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Great Wall & Summer Palace Tour with Lunch (110 USD), organized by our guide. The first stop on our tour will be the Great Wall of China, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, whose construction began in 220 BC to prevent invasions from the northern nomadic tribes of Central Asia. After visiting the Great Wall, we will have lunch, and then visit the magnificent Summer Palace, located on the shore of Kunming Lake. The Summer Palace is the best-preserved imperial garden and palace complex in China, situated in the northwest of Beijing. Its history dates back to the Jin Dynasty in the 12th century, but its current form was shaped during the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty in the 18th century. The emperor had it built to escape the busy atmosphere of the main palace and relax in nature. The palace was damaged during the Second Opium War in 1860 and was later restored by Cixi with funds allocated from the state navy budget. Although this event is known as a controversial anecdote, the elegant appearance of the palace today is the result of the detailed restorations carried out during that period. Afterwards, we will see the Bird’s Nest, the Beijing Olympic Stadium, from the outside. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant during the tour. Then transfer to the hotel. Accommodation at the Beijing hotel.

### Peking - Terra Cotta Museum - Xi'an

We will visit the “Underground Army” museum, known as the Terra Cotta Warriors, one of the most important archaeological excavations uncovered in the 20th century, built to protect the tomb of Shi Huang, the first emperor of China. Accidentally discovered by a farmer in 1974, this army houses 8,000 “terra cotta,” that is, “baked clay,” soldiers, each with a different facial expression and posture. These sculptures were prepared as a “spirit army,” with the belief that they would continue to protect the emperor after his death. During our visit, we will have the opportunity to see the emperor’s power and the level of craftsmanship present in his era. After our tour, we return to Xi’An. We will have our lunch at a local restaurant during the tour. At the end of the tour, we transfer to the hotel to rest. Accommodation at the Xi’An hotel.
