02 Strasbourg – Eguisheim – Colmar – Riquewihr – Strasbourg
After breakfast at the hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the extra Eguisheim & Colmar & Riquewihr (100 Euro) tour. The first stop of our tour is Eguisheim, one of the charming towns of Alsace. As you wander through its narrow, quaint streets among the houses with beautiful colorful geraniums hanging from their wooden windows and balconies, you will begin to lose yourself in stories from times past. Since 2003, Eguisheim has been a member of the “Most Beautiful Villages of France” club, and it was chosen as the “favorite village of the French” in 2013. After our Eguisheim tour, we depart for our second stop, Colmar. With its colorful houses, flower-decorated streets, and beauty, Colmar is one of the most enchanting cities and holds great importance as the starting point of the Alsace Wine Route. The canals that add even more beauty to Colmar are branches of the Rhine River. The colorful historic buildings lined along the river and dating back to the 1200s are the city’s most distinctive and notable feature. During our Colmar tour, as we stroll through its carnival-like streets, we visit St. Martin’s Cathedral, with its giant stork nests, Rue Marchand (Merchant Street), and the “Petite Venise” district, which means “Little Venice.” Our final stop on the tour is Riquewhir, known as the most famous village of Alsace... The harmony of the two-story houses built in a blend of wood and concrete in Alsatian style, along with their different colors and shapes, makes this charming town, home to 1,200 people, visited by 2 million people every year. You will not be able to stop taking photos in this wonderful city blended with history, culture, and nature. After our tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel. 03 Strasbourg – Schaffhausen Rhine Falls – Zurich – Lucerne – Strasbourg
After the breakfast to be served at the hotel, free time. Guests who wish can join the Schaffhausen Rhine Falls & Zurich & Lucerne tour (110 Euro), which will be arranged as an extra by our guide. Our first stop on our tour is the Rhine Falls. After our walk around Europe’s largest waterfall, with its 150-meter width and 23-meter height, accompanied by the enchanting sound of water, we head to Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland. Situated on the shores of Lake Zurich and at the foot of the Alps, Zurich hosts millions of tourists throughout the year with both its historical background and its culture. The city’s history dates back to the Neolithic and Bronze Ages, and its name comes from Turus. During the Roman occupation in the 2nd century A.D., the city was named Turicum. When this name is translated into Swiss German, it is pronounced “Zuri”. According to recent data, Zurich, the most livable city in Europe, is also called the cultural capital of Switzerland. Upon arrival, after seeing Grossmünster, Fraumünster Churches, and St. Peterskirche, the church with Europe’s largest clock tower, we tour Bahnhofstrasse, considered the city’s shopping center. After our tour, we head to Lucerne. In this charming city, after seeing the Lion Monument, built in memory of the 800 Swiss soldiers who were martyred while protecting King Louis XVI and his family, the Chapel Bridge, and the magnificent view of Lake Lucerne, we end our tour and transfer to our hotel.
