02 Strasbourg – Eguisheim – Colmar – Riquewihr – Strasbourg
After breakfast at the hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the extra Eguisheim & Colmar & Riquewihr tour (100 Euro). Our tour’s first stop is Eguisheim, one of the charming towns of Alsace. As you wander through its narrow, lovely streets, among houses with wooden windows and balconies adorned with beautiful colorful geraniums, you will begin to lose yourself in tales of the past. Since 2003, Eguisheim has been a member of the “Most Beautiful Villages of France” club, and in 2013 it was chosen as the “favorite village of the French.” After our Eguisheim tour, we head to our second stop, Colmar. With its colorful houses, flower-decked streets, and enchanting beauty, Colmar is one of the most captivating cities and is of great importance as the starting point of the Alsace Wine Route. The canals that add to Colmar’s beauty are branches of the Rhine River. The colorful historic buildings lining the river, whose origins date back to the 1200s, are the city’s most distinctive and remarkable feature. During our Colmar tour, as we stroll through its carnival-like streets, we visit St. Martin’s Cathedral, with its enormous stork nests on top, Rue Marchand (Merchant Street), and the “Petite Venise” area, meaning “Little Venice.” Our final stop on the tour is Riquewihr, known as Alsace’s most famous village… The harmony of two-story houses made of a blend of wood and stone, with different colors and shapes, makes this charming town, home to 1,200 people, visited by 2 million people each year. In this wonderful city, blended with history, culture, and nature, you will not tire of taking photos. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel. (For example: Mulhouse, Colmar, Strasbourg, Basel, Belfort, Offenburg, Karlsruhe)
03 Strasbourg – Schaffhausen Rhine Falls – Zurich – Lucerne – Strasbourg
After breakfast at the hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the Schaffhausen Rhine Falls & Zurich & Lucerne tour, which will be organized as an optional excursion by our guide (110 Euro). Our tour’s first stop is the Rhine Falls. After a walk around Europe’s largest waterfall, with its 150-meter width and 23-meter height, accompanied by the captivating sound of rushing water, we depart for Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland. Located on the shores of Lake Zurich and at the foot of the Alps, Zurich hosts millions of tourists throughout the year thanks to both its historical past and its culture. The city’s history dates back to the Neolithic and Bronze Ages, and its name comes from Turus. Under Roman occupation in the 2nd century A.D., the city was named Turicum. When this name was translated into Swiss German, it was pronounced “Zuri.” According to the latest data, Zurich is the most livable city in Europe and is also referred to as the cultural capital of Switzerland. Upon arrival, after seeing the Grossmünster, Fraumünster Churches, and St. Peter’s Church, home to Europe’s largest clock tower, we tour Bahnhofstrasse, considered the city’s shopping center. After the tour, we depart for Lucerne. In this enchanting city, after seeing the Lion Monument, erected in memory of the 800 Swiss soldiers who were martyred while protecting King Louis XVI and his family, the Chapel Bridge, and the magnificent view of Lake Lucerne, we end our tour and transfer back to our hotel.
