Tour Program
01 Ankara (ESB) - Madrid
We will meet our valued guests at Ankara Esenboğa Airport, at the departure terminal of the international flights, at least 3 hours before the flight. After ticket, baggage, and passport procedures, we will depart for Madrid on Ajet Airlines’ scheduled flight at 09:05. Arrival in Madrid will be at 12:35 local time. After arrival, we leave the airport and begin our Madrid city tour. We will start with Plaza Mayor, the large square known as the main square. This square has 136 buildings and 437 balconies opening onto the courtyard. In the past, bullfights and people burned by the Inquisition were watched from these balconies. Places to be seen include Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city; Plaza Mayor, the large square; Plaza de Oriente, the place where the Royal Palace addresses the public; Alcalá Gate, built as the city’s entrance gate to demonstrate how wealthy the city is; Gran Via, which impresses with its arcaded roofs; Plaza Colón; Cibeles Square and Fountain; and the Cervantes Monument. After the tour, transfer to our hotel and overnight at our hotel.
02 Madrid-Toledo-Madrid
After breakfast at the hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the Toledo Tour, organized as an extra by our guide (65 Euro). Toledo is a true open-air museum and one of the most important cities on the UNESCO World Heritage list, as well as the former capital of Spain. Its magnificent cathedral, housing works by world-famous artists, makes it rival some of the world’s most renowned museums. Known as the city of El Greco, Toledo has remained unchanged since the 16th century. Buildings bearing traces of Roman, Visigothic, Arab, Gothic, and Renaissance architecture, narrow streets, El Greco’s paintings, traditional pastry shops, Damascene stores, and of course its famous cathedral make it a major tourist attraction. Another tradition in Toledo dates back to the time when the Arabs conquered the city: the production of almond paste. One cannot consider a visit to Toledo complete without tasting this mouthwatering sweet. After our walk through the Jewish Quarter, we head to our hotel in Madrid. Overnight at the hotel.
03 Madrid-Zaragoza-Barcelona
After breakfast in the morning, we will depart for Barcelona. Guests who wish may join the Zaragoza Tour (30 Euro), organized as an extra by our guide. During the tour, we will see the Ebro River, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, the La Seo Cathedral, San Pablo Church, Plaza Espana, and the Pilar Bridge among the places to be visited. Barcelona, the capital of the Autonomous Community of Catalonia and Spain’s second-largest city, where the magnificent works of the famous architect Antoni Gaudí are located, attracts four times its population in tourists thanks to its remarkable landmarks. At the end of our tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
04 Barcelona
After breakfast at the hotel, guests who wish may join the Girona & Figueres Tour (70 Euro), which will be organized as an extra by our guide. We begin our tour in Girona, the richest city in the region, built on the banks of the Onyar River and at first glance reminiscent of Florence. This charming medieval city, with its narrow streets and cathedral, is also worth seeing; it was additionally the filming location of the movie Perfume. On our panoramic tour, we will see the Lion Statue, Cathedral Square, the houses with mezuzahs, the Jewish Quarter, La Rambla, and its famous shops. After free time, we head toward Figueres City with the scenery of the Pyrenees Mountains. The town has such an impressive atmosphere that it was a lifelong source of inspiration for the boundary-breaking painter Salvador Dalí, admired by the whole world. Here we will visit the museum-house that the famous surrealist painter Salvador Dalí decorated with his own hands. In this museum, where each artwork is valued at millions of dollars, we will visit the museum after seeing the mind-bending works in which he depicted his immortal love, Gala, and then transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
05 Barcelona – Ankara (ESB)
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the city center by private vehicle. On our panoramic city tour, we will see La Sagrada Familia, also known as the “Unfinished Church,” Spain and Catalunya Square, Gaudí’s Houses (Casa Batlló and Casa Milà), Plaça de Catalunya, La Rambla Avenue, and Port Olímpic. After the city tour, transfer to our hotel. Free time until the time determined by our guide, and then transfer to the airport.
